Tupac: ...Nigga are those leggings?

Probably only relevant if you are closer to 40.

On May 25, 1985, Computer Caper aired on TV. Fat Albert and the Cosby kids cartoon told the story of a young computer hacker (of course not one of the Cosby kids) who got in trouble. In this episode, Bill Cosby adds comments to point out right and wrongs in the story. Then making the point on how a computer can be used to gain a lot of knowledge or be used for crimes.

Tonight that episode came on tv (black folk channel) and I was is awe! I watched these growing up. Hmmm…what year is this again…..is that a floppy disk he is holding…is that a printer????

Hold Up!!

Instantly, I got out my laptop and Googled what year could this be? Umm, did they just say modem, printer, floppy disk, tracing IP addresses, servers, mainframes and police computer task force?

The way Bill is dressed, this has to be late 70’s early 80’s. Indeed it was…I was 12.

I do realize that computers were nothing new in the early 80’s but it’s the fact that Bill Cosby was trying to TEACH

us about computers before computers were a way of life.

That is worth acknowledgement.
